Join us for a Seudah Shlishit and talk by Steve Griffiths (or to give him his proper title, Wing Commander Steve Griffiths MBE MBA RAF [Ret’d])!
Steve retired from the RAF as a Wing Commander having spent a full career from 1966 to 2011 as a Vulcan captain and display pilot, plus as a flying instructor on various aircraft types. He also completed several senior staff appointments in the Ministry of Defence and in NATO. In the early 1980s Steve spent three years behind the Iron Curtain engaged in espionage duties, for which he was awarded an MBE.
His lecture will describe how he was selected for espionage duties, the unit he joined, the training he underwent, the equipment he used and the people he worked with. He will then take listeners out on a typical spying mission to give a flavour of this covert, exciting, often very dangerous, but ultimately rewarding way of life
Time: 7.30pm (this is the longest Shabbat of the year...hence the late start!)
Venue: Check your bulletin or contact admin@kolnefesh.org.uk.
